We are working from the McDonalds Corporation Harvard Business Review Article, FYI, so all of our analysis will be for McDonalds. for M11A1 we must: • Perform an external environmental analysis of the: o Macro-level environment (PESTEL analysis). o Industry environment (e.g., Porter’s five forces). o Competitive environment. • Perform an internal analysis of the firm using the resource-based view: o What are the firm’s resources, capabilities, and competencies? o Does the firm possess valuable, rare, costly to imitate resources, and is it organized to capture value from those resources (VRIO analysis)? o What is the firm’s value chain? for M11A2 we must: • Analyze the firm’s current business-level and corporate-level strategies: o Business-level strategy (product market positioning). o Corporate-level strategy (diversification). o International strategy (geographic scope and mode of entry). o How are these strategies being implemented? • Analyze the firm’s performance: o Use both financial and market-based measures. o How does the firm compare to its competitors as well as the industry average? o What trends are evident over the past three to five years? o Consider the perspectives of multiple stakeholders (internal and external). o Does the firm possess a competitive advantage? If so, can it be sustained?

Political – McDonald’s has to adhere to every guideline and law made by the government of area of operations with respect to health of customers (Singireddy, 2020). There can be governmental restrictions of using some ingredients at high levels in food products sold by McDonald’s. These restrictions have to be taken seriously by McDonald’s.
